We are thrilled to announce the first official visit of the President of the University of Dundee to our esteemed institution, the University of Baghdad, marking a significant milestone in our partnership with a British university after several years.

Amidst this significant event, the President of the University of Dundee and the Director of International Partnerships seized the opportunity to explore potential avenues for collaborative cooperation. They actively participated in productive discussions with our esteemed President, the representative of the Iraqi Prime Minister, and presidents from several renowned Iraqi universities.

The meeting, held at our prestigious campus, focused on key areas of collaboration, including:

1️⃣ Advancements in medical education.

2️⃣ Facilitating the exchange of experiences, fostering research teams, and enabling Iraqi students to complete their studies at the University of Dundee.

3️⃣ Emphasizing joint supervision of theses for Iraqi students on scholarships to the University of Dundee.

4️⃣ Organizing workshops to foster collaborative research and exchange innovative ideas for future projects.

Both parties also took the opportunity to review the remarkable joint research published in reputable scientific journals, showcasing the exemplary work conducted by our institutions.

The President of the University of Dundee expressed deep admiration for Iraq’s rich cultural heritage, acknowledging the country as the cradle of civilizations. With great enthusiasm, they affirmed their commitment to working closely with our partners in Iraq, aiming to build joint opportunities for both institutions.

The University of Dundee’s Director of International Partnerships expressed a strong interest in exploring cooperation with Iraqi universities during the visit to Iraq. They highlighted the success of Iraqi graduates from the University of Dundee, showcasing the positive outcomes of our ongoing collaborations.
